Terms of Service

Last updated January 28, 2026

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and WishEDA Inc. ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), the company behind Trace.

Acceptance of Terms

By using Trace, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. These Terms are a legal agreement between you and WishEDA Inc.

The Service

Trace is an AI-native PCB design tool. We provide the software, AI assistance, and related services. Features may change as we improve the product.

Your Account

You need an account to use Trace. Keep your credentials secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. One person per account unless you have a team plan.

Your Content

You own your designs. By using Trace, you grant us a license to process your content to provide the service. We don't claim ownership of your work.

Acceptable Use

Don't use Trace for illegal purposes, to harm others, or to abuse our systems. Don't reverse engineer, scrape, or try to access our systems without authorization.

Payment

Paid plans are billed in advance. Refunds are handled case-by-case. We may change pricing with notice. Free tier has usage limits.

Termination

You can cancel anytime. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, you can export your data for 30 days.

Limitation of Liability

Trace is provided "as is". WishEDA Inc. isn't liable for indirect damages. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.

AI-Generated Content

Trace uses AI to assist with PCB design. AI-generated outputs — including schematics, component selections, routing, and layouts — are suggestions, not guarantees. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating all designs before fabrication or production. WishEDA Inc. is not liable for errors, omissions, or failures in AI-generated outputs.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify WishEDA Inc. against claims arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

Open Source Components

Trace is built upon KiCad, an open-source Electronic Design Automation (EDA) suite licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). We gratefully acknowledge the KiCad development team and community for their foundational work. Our modified source code is available at github.com/buildwithtrace/trace in compliance with the GPL license.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept them. We'll notify you of significant changes.
